CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Earnhardt family has added a new vehicle to their collection-- but it's not exactly what you'd expect.

Last Monday, Kerry Earnhardt, the eldest son of the late NASCAR legend, Dale Earnhardt, and brother of Dale Jr., won a custom-built, twin engine bathtub GoKart during a live auction at the Dream Big Benefit in Ballantyne.

The event was a fundraiser for Beds For Kids, a non-profit out of SouthEnd.

"It's literally one-of-a-kind," said Beds For Kids Executive Director Daniel Fogarty. "My father in-law found it at a car show. It's an actual bath tub, with an actual faucet, hand painted with a couple of big engines in the back. The thing can really go."

The bathtub GoKart, which was just one of dozens of items available at the auction, can reach speeds of up to 45 mph.

Kerry Earnhardt and wife, Rene', have done more than give their money to the organization, they give time and heart going on deliveries to serve families in need throughout Charlotte.   They have developed the Earnhardt Collection, a home lifestyle brand reflecting casual, comfortable living inspired by nature and are always looking for ways to make Home better for everyone.   During the fundraiser, the couple spoke on stage about their involvement with Beds For Kids.

The event raised more than $150,000.
